Helloh?
Hola everybody!
I'm having a good time here in Tucson, and for this week I thought I'd just send a few highlights from the past week.
Exchanges were last Tuesday; I had a really good time with Elder Christensen! We biked down to the very southern part of our area, which we never visit because of how far away it is, and on a whim we decided to eat at a Panda Express we passed. We enjoyed our meal, came back, and realize that while we'd successfully locked our bikes outside, we couldn't successfully unlock them. Elder Taylor took the keys to the other ward. We ended up taking the bus to our next lesson, visited with some nice people on the street, and eventually the keys made their way to the sister missionaries who were able to retrieve our bikes. That was the highlight of our exchange!
It's very hot now, and I'm biking around in 95-105 degree weather most days. It's supposed to get 10-15 degrees hotter as we approach the middle of summer so that's a little scary....
Please pray for our members and investigators here in Central Ward. I'm not going to list any names, but for one person we did a dedicatory prayer for their home (a sort of house blessing) and after months of tribulation and our attempts to help, their quality of life has suddenly massively improved (miracles!), and we have some people who are putting forth the effort to come to church because they know the Book of Mormon is true and that Christ lives.
As I've continued my scriptural reading and started a read-through of the famous LDS theological apologetic work Jesus the Christ, I've been able to see with new clarity the manner in which the Book of Mormon substantiates and testifies of Jesus Christ as portrayed in the Holy Bible. Though it may seem somewhat non-traditional, I cannot sufficiently express my appreciation for the Book of Mormon as a way for people all over the earth to gain knowledge of Christ and to gain a testimony that He lives and that He died for our sins and that through Him we may be made clean. If you haven't read any of the Book of Mormon, it is, of course, my job to recommend you do so, at least to better understand our beliefs and feel the Spirit in its testimony of Christ. ¿Por favor?
Things are going well here! I appreciate your letters and comments. God bless you all!
