Why Is Nogales So Green?

¡Hola!

I hope you're all having a great day, because it's that time again: for Elder Brannon's weekly update! Prepare to be astounded and amazed by the lush, verdant glens and dales of Nogales, Arizona! (This year has seen the most rain they've had in several years, though it's not exactly brown during a normal monsoon season, either.)

It's quite wonderful and busy here, and while we don't currently have any planned baptisms (some other local missionaries do) we are working with some great people who are starting to see the positive impact of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. I have loved (and continue to love) the opportunity that I have been granted to see how accepting Jesus into our lives actually changes them for the better: making people happier, bringing God into their lives (for some, for the first time), helping their families grow closer in bonds of love, and giving them a clearer sense of purpose in their lives. There are quite a few recent converts to our Church here in Nogales: and the difference the Gospel has made in their lives is visible. Having seen that positive impact, that positive fruit of the Gospel in my life -- the blessings that God has granted in my life, it is a wonderful thing to see the same principles similarly impact the lives of others.

This week, I'd like to invite you all to just sit back and think about the blessings you have in your lives, such as family, friends, pets, a house, etc. Count your blessings! I promise you that if you take even just the smallest amount of time to do this, it will make you feel better and more gracious regarding the things God has given you.

I took a *lot* of video this week of Nogales raining and generally being green and selected just three to attach:

I hope you have an awesome week!

Much well-wishing,
